Ring Bearer Pillow, Flower Girl Baskets, Personalized Crate (Vintage Wedding Series)

Here's my 3rd post in my vintage wedding series dedicated to my little brother's wedding I am working on. You can catch up here, and here if you'd like.

I picked up a box of wood to make a crate for $1.99 recently at Goodwill. It was a kit for Pampered Chef associates. We put it together and I painted the couples last name using stencils, a sharpie and black paint.

I love how this turned out and will be on the hunt for an old crate to make one for myself!

I'm sure we can use this on the buffet or gift table and they can even used it after the wedding (if they want).

My son (who is now five), will be a ring bearer in my brother's outdoor Sedona, AZ wedding this October. He was the c-a-utest little ring bearer in our own wedding almost 5 years ago! My brother brought him down the isle.....awwww

I am passing down this very same pillow (originally made by a very good friend) to use in their wedding. I thought adding a cute fabric flower would make it extra special.

I made this flower from this $1.00 fabric scrap from Goodwill. I love its vintage look...

All you do is cut a long piece. Mine was 1 inch wide and about 30 inch long. I used pinking shears to cut. Then make a running stitch starting in the upper right corner. Loosely stitch all the way down and when you gather it together it ruffles up (photo 3).

After you pull the string to make the ruffle shape it into a flower and stitch it through from front to back really well. I embellished with a pearl looking bead. Super easy and inexpensive.

I found both these baskets at Goodwill for just a couple dollars each and spray painted the wood one white. I embellished it with a fabric flower. For the brown basket I just wrapped the handle in cream ribbon. They should work great as flower girl baskets!

My daughter is one of the flower girls and has been practicing!

Love it?! Pin It

Thanks for coming by!

What effect did you use on that first picture? Do you use photo shop or picnik? I LOVE it and would love to do that to some pictures of my kids!
